Crossing Over Into Your Future

By |April 21st, 2016|Categories: Leadership|Tags: , , , , , , , , |

This weekend marks the Hebrew celebration of Passover, which occurs in Nisan, the first month of the Jewish calendar. Interestingly, the Hebrew New Year begins in the fall at the Feast of Tabernacles, but the first month starts in the spring with Nisan. There is rich meaning and intent in this. Each year carries it’s own unique prophetic symbolism and it’s as if the Lord releases His prophetic purpose at Tabernacles and then allows it to grow and be worked out in hiddenness, only to emerge as we pass over into the full measure of what He desires to accomplish [...]

securing your future by redefining your past

By |February 22nd, 2016|Categories: Identity|Tags: , , , , , , , , , |

God is deeply invested in your future. To get you there, it often means redefining your past. He’s constantly communicating to keep us on track. Sometimes, He calls us to look forward into the future and sometimes, He asks us to take a deep look back at the path we’ve been on so that we can better understand where we’re headed. I was recently in a service at Global Spheres where a series of prophetic words came forth related to this. Here is a portion of that word: A Month of Confrontation – Seize the Day! “This will be a month [...]

Stop Swimming In The Kiddie Pool

By |May 29th, 2015|Categories: Uncategorized|Tags: , , , , , , , , |

This weekend God hit me with a challenge/rebuke that I think will resonate with you as well. I was in a conference session and heard Him say, ”It’s time to get out of the kiddie pool. It’s time to start swimming in the depth that I have called you to.” When He said it, I knew exactly what He was talking about. I have some revelation that I think is important and I’ve been sitting on it. I’ve shared it with a few people, but I’ve been hesitant to unpack what I'm hearing to a larger audience and He called [...]

prophecy = action

By |May 4th, 2015|Categories: Vanguard Movement|Tags: , , , , , , |

If we are going to do things we are created to do, it is essential that we stay in timing with God. And staying in timing means taking action. This week, I have been rereading God’s Unfolding Battle Plan by Chuck Pierce. The book lays out specific battles and prophetic insights regarding the church and the world from 2007- 2015. Since we are nearing the end of the prophetic window that the book was written about, I think it’s important to see where things stand with regard these key prophecies. As I was reading, I was amazed at the accuracy [...]

What Label Are You Wearing?

By |March 4th, 2015|Categories: Identity|Tags: , , , , , |

Have you ever felt like you understood a season of your life, only to realize you didn’t? That’s what happened to me this week. I was sitting in a conference session and suddenly realized that for years I had been miscast in a role that defined my identity for over a decade.  What?!?! I was really good at what I did.  I helped a lot of people.  It was something that I excelled at, but it was also a label that boxed me in. Can you relate? The Identity War: Sometimes we forget, or fail to recognize the level of [...]

What Makes Us Different?

By |July 25th, 2014|Categories: Vanguard Movement|Tags: , , , , , , , , , , , , , |

I’ve been thinking a lot about this question. There’s been a lot of discussion in recent years about advancing the Kingdom of God into the main culture systems of society.  We know it won’t be the work of a few charismatic leaders. Instead, it will be led organically by a tribe of people who shake off their limitations to partner with God’s vision. So, we know this is what wants us to be doing...we're just trying to figure out how to do it. How do we shift culture back to Kingdom principles? How do we leverage influence in order to [...]

The One Question You MUST Answer

By |July 4th, 2014|Categories: Creativity|Tags: , , , , , , , , , , |

If you’ve spent any time studying creativity in leadership, you know that one of the most important attributes of innovative leaders is the ability to ask good questions. Apple has become the dominant force it is because Steve Jobs forced his team to ask important questions no one else was asking. I never knew I couldn't live without an iPhone, until I couldn't live without an iPhone! Questions are powerful tools to expand your thinking.  They cause you to move past your assumptions and entertain the ridiculous, the nonsensical, the uncomfortable and on occasion, the truly genius. Where Questions Go [...]

There’s A Heavy Price To Hesitation

By |June 26th, 2014|Categories: Leadership|Tags: , , , |

One of the things that I keep hearing is that the next two years are going to be filled with dramatic changes – both internally and externally.  The idea of change can be exciting – as long as it remains an idea.  That’s why movies and self-help books are so popular.  We like to visualize a better life.   Doing the work to get there, well… The idea of change is great… The other side of change is great… The process of change… not so much. The truth is, nobody likes having to change.  I mentioned in a recent post [...]
